Spring Check in
It seems lately everything is about patterns: stripes, florals, surf inspired motifs or even wilder prints such as the ones from Gitman and Our Legacy latest drops, there’s a hype about which one is trendiest and what garments to sport them in. Although I’m a sucker for many of this season’s offerings I have to admit that checks still do, and have done so for me ever since their popularity boom about 3/4 years ago. There’s just something about a well balanced checked patterned that makes it both timeless and up to date, granting it a place in everyone’s wardrobe for years to come. This shirt by Our Legacy was love at first sight and has become the only short sleeve version in my wardrobe so far; the brilliant color scheme makes it perfect with denim and khakis while its casual feel allows to sport it over a tee. The polka dot pocket square on the trucker jacket opposes its relaxed nature and adds yet another pattern to the mix…

A classic trenchcoat is one of the most essential and timeless pieces you can add to your collection. Although it’s perfect to top a suit or more formal attires, incorporating it into more relaxed looks to achieve a thoughtful balance is also a great way to sport it. Besides that elegant/relaxed mix what I love about this is how so many different complementing colors blend in for a perfect outcome: the plaid on the shirt, denim on the jacket, brown scarf, charcoal jeans and tan topcoat.

This is why I’m getting a Levi’s trucker asap…
While I don’t advocate the jean jacket too often, I will always be a proponent of layering up.

I’m currently on the lookout for a denim trucker jacket and although I’ll probably end up going for the classic Levi’s, this version by Pendleton is outstanding…

The story of the Levi’s Trucker in a minute
The denim jacket is one of those iconic pieces that’s been around for ages…and when it comes to denim, Levi’s is the major player. Few brands have its background and experience in working with this timeless fabric.
Their trucker jacket is one of those items that has withstand the passing of times, reaching an almost legendary status. It survived fashion and trends, continuously adapting and being incorporated into different outfits.
Levi’s has recently released a 1 minute video on the evolution of the Trucker Jacket. Check it out!
Despite the many available models and collaborations with reputed brands such as Billy Reid, Pendleton, Opening Cerimony, Stussy or Filson, the most sought version is the original, preferably a beaten up vintage one. Ebay is a great place to look for one:
Once you score one, all you have to do is wear it proudly:

Joshua Kissi and Travis Gumbs from Street Etiquette are outstanding dressers. Here you can see Joshua (on the right), sporting a vintage Levi’s trucker.
