Camoshita SS15 Pitti Preview
Yet another outstanding selection from one of my favourite designers and style inspirations. Yasuto Kamoshita keeps on delivering perfectly balanced collections that combine tailored and casual elements with unique sophistication. A representation of his personal style, the collection merges a variety of influences that translate into a brilliant mix of colours, patterns, textures and luxurious fabrics. Apart from the inherent visual appeal, the pieces on display just screamed to be experienced in person: bouclé effects, open weave knits, seersucker suits and blazers, lightweight cottons or brushed jerseys create a distinct universe where even the simplest of garments is on another level.

Buttero SS15 Pitti Preview
By now, Buttero needs no introduction… universally praised as one the best sneaker manufacturers around, the Tuscan-based family brand has elevated its models to new standards. As one of their biggest fans and supporters, I’m constantly showcasing their other footwear alternatives, namely boat shoes, loafers, derbies and the exclusive boots dating back to the brand’s origins.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the SS15 collection places a heavy bet on more casual models, including a variety of sneakers, slip-ons and sandals, without forgetting some more classic alternatives. Making use of some of the best vegetable tanned leather and suede out there, the result is an amazing mix of materials in both subtle and bright shades, along with beautiful craftsmanship as seen in the braided leather versions. New additions include a lightweight construction making use of cork-based soles with vibram layering. Their AW14 collection is now online at the official website.

1ST PAT-RN SS15 Pitti Preview
Visiting Silvia, Alessio and Cris has become a regular entry on my agenda ever since I came across 1ST PAT-RN. As a fan and proud owner of 3 of their jackets, it’s always a pleasure to check in and discuss new developments and designs. The unique military inspired aesthetic along with an exclusive “cavalry di maglia” fabric, allows for a tailored yet comfortable look: fully unstructured with no lining, the knitted fabric adjusts to the body and regains its shape after each wash.
For SS15, the major change comes through the addition of bottom pieces such as the indigo selvedge denim and knitted shorts. Also, next season sees a new fabric development come to life: the “gabardina a maglia”, a sort of gabardine twill that provides the first woven approach to 1ST PAT-RN models. Besides the essential single and double breasted jackets, new worker jackets made the cut in beautiful camel and indigo shades.
