2013 in Review
The above thought was shared with me once by a former employer and someone I respect and admire both on personal and professional levels. Although it made sense at the time, this passing year I was able to fully understand its meaning and properly value just how important your time really is…
2013 was filled with its ups and downs, as life usually is, but this year in particular was life-changing in so many ways. As I’m about to turn 30, I’ve learned much about myself and my posture towards life in general, which got me rethinking some previously set-in-stone concepts I lived by. I don’t want to turn this small reflection into a clichéd-self-help text, but the truth is with time and experience, most of those catch phrases and sound advices you’ve grown up listening to, actually start making a whole lot of sense.
Looking back to where I was a year ago, I can only be grateful in a way and mesmerized by the fact life definitely likes to play you like a puppet, as Frank put it: “riding high in April, shot down in May…back on top in June”. Within the limbo of uncertainty that life is, it’s up to us to really make the most of our limited time and begin valuing it as our most precious possession. That being said, I’m making it one of my top resolutions for 2014, which is already presenting a small glimpse of the changes that are yet to come: success, failure and opportunities. For now, I’m just trying to focus on the moment and embrace all the good things in my life.
Thank you all for your continuous support and for making it possible to keep on writing the blog and doing what I love. Wish you a Happy New Year and may 2014 bring you all you hope and strive for!
Happy New Year!
Looking back, 2012 was in a way: rough. They say changes are usually for the best but they definitely take a toll on several levels: emotional, personal, professional… Sometimes it seems life throws you down just for the kicks of seeing how well you’re gonna get up on your feet…
Come to think of it and looking at where I’m now, while writing this post, I have to admit I stood up to the challenge: 2012 granted me new professional opportunities and projects but above all it allowed me to value the most important people in my life.
So, my wishes to you are that exactly in a year’s time you can look back to 2013 and have the same positive balance. Happy New Year, may it be filled with joy, health and personal and professional success!!
