Mini Bowtie by Cabo De Mar
Beyond Fabric x Purificacion Garcia #1
Following my previous introduction to its SS13 collection, I got a chance to style some looks for Purificacion Garcia using my favourite pieces for the season.
Starting with what might just be my first choice among all the garments in the collection, and one of the season’s essentials, this suede bomber jacket instantly earned its way to the top spots of my wishlist. The beautiful taupe shade with chambray lining and orange/burgundy highlights on the pockets and zippers, set the mood for the whole look. A contrasting pale blue crewneck sweater underneath, dark denim with contrast orange stitching and supple suede boots pick up the chromatic and texture themes. The stripped knit tie adds a dash of color and pattern to the mix..

Despite the mixed opinions regarding cargo pants I have to say they won me over, especially if we’re talking about slim fitting alternatives. Cucinelli is king when it comes to cargos (and so many other things), but until I can afford to dish out +€450 for a pair of pants, this version by Uniqlo is the next best thing. Plus, when you’re traveling those extra pockets definitely come in handy. Some basic layering on top with an oxford button down, cardigan and timeless denim trucker adds texture, color and visual interest. However, the whole look is focused on the vintage white knit tie I got the day before at a flea market for €1; white is the last color I would ever consider purchasing a tie in, and I probably wouldn’t have if it weren’t for the price, but the truth is it actually works great with darker shades.

Never underestimate the power of a knit tie…plus the color combo with the briefcase is brilliant

Although I have a thing against outlets, the truth remains that there are great deals to be had at a select few. This silk knit tie by Carolina Herrera was originally priced at 110€ and I got it for 10€: perfect feel, pattern and width.
White button down oxford by Ralph Lauren (custom fit), grey wool slacks by Gentleman Tailors (custom made), distressed brown leather boat shoes by Buttero, navy silk polka dot knit tie by Carolina Herrera, brown braided leather belt by Acne and vintage Citizen chronograph.
