My reinstated love for the 3-piece chalk stripe grey suit.
Besides the amazing photography, scenarios and plot, Wes Anderson’s wardrobe selection is immaculate.
The Interiors of Wes Anderson
La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty)
Arguably one of the most beautiful and striking movies I’ve ever seen, La Grande Bellezza is a masterpiece in its own right. From the carefully thought and immersive dialogues (and monologues), to superb photography and the sarcastic humor in which it depicts Roman society, it hooks you right from the start.
To top it off, the main character (Jeb Gambardella) is a prime example of class, elegance and style, portraying a unique Italian nonchalance brought to life through unstructured jackets and suits, perfectly tailored and in unexpected bright colors. Not to forget the wide range of pocket squares he effortlessly sports in the most exquisite ways. If I reach 65 looking like that, I’ll be one happy man.
Prada teams up with Wes Anderson and Jason Schwartzman for this remarkable short film “Castello Cavalcanti”. Evoking several references from Federico Fellini and the history of Italian cinema, the director is able to once again create unique characters with a refined humorous twist.
