Visvim SS13 Lookbook
I believe Visvim is one of those love or hate brands: be it by its unique aesthetic or unaffordable price point, the cult label has gathered followers on both ends of the spectrum. I always looked at it from a more conceptual point of view, not so wearable, but with interesting items to throw in the mix. This SS13 lookbook however, presents some of the most solid looks I’ve seen from the Japanese brand so far and a couple I could actually picture myself wearing.
Billy Reid AW13 Pitti Preview
Another eye-catching collection from the American designer, making perfect use of earthy tones in beautiful jackets and heavy knits with jacquard prints. A well balanced mix of menswear essentials such as sharp blazers and shirts, while allowing you the freedom to play around with pattern and texture through thoroughly detailed garments.
The standouts? I would have to say everything leather: from superb vintage looking briefcases, totes and holdalls, up to the suede loafers and leather boots, simply outstanding…
Band of Outsiders SS13 Lookbook
One of the most inspiring events that took place during the last edition of Pitti, was definitely Angelo Flaccavento’s curated exhibit “Vestirse da Uomo” (Dress Like a Man), where Angelo himself selected 20 essential pieces every man should have in his wardrobe. The event then hosted a panel of renowned menswear icons including Angelo, Wooster and Gianluca Cantaro.
I got a chance to meet my friend Martin from Guaizine and go through the selection with him. Luckily he’s a really great photographer, so my thanks to him!

Polka Dots & Houndstooth
Taking garments and accessories out of their original context is one of the things that inspires me the most when it comes to menswear. This is something I’m constantly looking out for in new collections or simply by observing stylish individuals on the street. As menswear “rules” bend more and more, so do the limits of creativity and mixing and matching.
Bowties are no longer the epitome of formality nor limited to tuxedos…as a matter of fact, this is precisely one of the pieces I love dressing down with a relaxed candy striped oxford shirt and a pair of worn out jeans. A cashmere cardigan with contrasting houndstooth elbow patches and a reversible gillet add the final details to a casual, put together weekend attire…
Details: reversible gillet by Zara, houndstooth elbow patched cardigan by Annapurna 5+1, candy stripe oxford button down by Our Legacy, jeans by Levi’s (511), polka dot bowtie by Add On, cashmere scarf by Burberry, vintage braided leather belt and watch by Daniel Wellington.
