#10 - Buttero Round Toe Brown Suede Chukka Boots
A Unique Parka
Whenever the weather allows it, changing from heavy duffle or overcoats to something lighter and more practical is a welcome change. The lightweight parka is an essential and versatile addition to any wardrobe, an allrounder wearable from early Fall to late Winter. This Cross Jacket is a perfect example, combining a soft twill fabric with several outstanding details such as a warm puffed lining, adjustable drawstring on the waist with leather detailing, biased patch front pockets and button cuffs. Its mao-like collar works brilliantly with a turtleneck sweater, providing the perfect chance to take a break from shirts while keeping a polished and elegant look. I must say my position on turtlenecks has been one of love/hate, mostly because of the poor uses we come across on a daily basis, but also due to its cliché-ish associations. To keep things interesting a dash of color through orange chinos and striped socks, balanced by a pair of blue suede loafers…

Weekend Attire
Browsing through vintage stores looking for that special item is something that’s been a part of my life ever since my brother lived in London, a few years back. While sometimes nothing special hits your eye, other times that unique garment is enough to compensate for lost time: this was just the case with this Harris Tweed’s 3 button blazer. A timeless classic in charcoal with green and brown checks, flap pockets and wooden buttons makes it the perfect cold weather alternative for a put together look. The sturdy fabric provides the right amount of texture and warmth perfectly adapting to more formal or relaxed looks. Taking the latter into account, there’s no need to get slouchy on the weekend…
Details: vintage 3 button checked Harris Tweed blazer, club collar shirt (altered for collar pin) by Rugby Ralph Lauren, Levi’s 511 slim fit jeans (tailored), suede penny loafers by Buttero, vintage collar pin, wool/silk tie by Purificacion Garcia, polka dot pocket square by The Tie Rack, vintage braided leather belt, vintage chronograph by Citizen and striped socks by H&M.

Fall Shades
Although rain is a pain, I’ve got to say I was eagerly awaiting for Fall to arrive in all its cold splendor. There’s something overly appealing about mixing garments with distinct textures and warm, earthy tones, not to mention the range of available accessories. For me, few other shades scream cold weather as well as burgundy and mustard; while the first has established its place as a classic, the latter is currently experiencing a much deserved hype moment. Not as sophisticated or regal as camel, mustard is an outstanding alternative that embodies the season’s spirit and allows for superb color schemes. Cold weather calls for cords, and this slim fitting model has been on heavy rotation lately, providing the perfect chance to sport two of my latest purchases, both in burgundy: the Buttero boots and Soeur Fedora.
Details: raw hem wool blazer by Rice, washed denim shirt by Hentsch Man, mustard cords by H&M, round toe leather boots by Buttero, wool fedora by Soeur, tortoise shades by Linda Farrow Luxe, wool/silk patterned scarf by Épice, vintage braided leather belt.
