Q:I hear everywhere about getting your clothes fixed, be it a complete suit or just a shirt of your new jeans. I live in Porto and I was wondering if you can write an article about some of the tailors that exist in our city and your recommendations about this issue.

Hi! I’m a strong believer that you should get your pieces fitted. If you think about it, the range of available off-the-rack sizes and models are limiting, for the endless individual types of body. So, it comes to no surprise that some garments will not ensure what you consider a perfect fit… This narrows your options down to two: either get bespoke/made to measure pieces or adjust the ones you buy. If you go with the first, then you’ll most certainly need a tailor (the best you can afford); however, if you are just aiming to get a few cm taken in in a pair of pants or a shirt, a gifted seamstress will serve you well.

That being said, I will look into it and try to come up with a list of renowned tailors and stores with made to measure offerings in our city (check my store info post about Gentleman).

Thanks for reading! Cheers!
