Vintage family pics

One of the best things about the Holidays is spending time with your family and loved ones, some of which you don’t get to see as often as you’d wish…

It is only natural that when everyone comes together on Christmas Eve, embraced by the spirit of the season, a sense of nostalgia and reminiscence arises in the form of storytelling or browsing old family photos. Usually brought on by older family members, it’s such an amazing way to keep the family history alive and remember meaningful people and events.

Recently, my uncle dug up hundreds of old family pics and slides and had them all scanned to compile a digital album..this was probably one of the best gifts I could’ve asked for. Some of the most impressive pics are those of my grandparents, back in the 40’s-60’s when they lived in Venezuela and had an hotel:

Transportation…

Hotel guests

Grandfather (lying down) and friends

His ride back then…wish I had it nowadays

His other ride…

Love this pic…must’ve been taken around 1930. My grandfather’s the one on the right. Side note: it was featured on the vintage photo contest held by The Sartorialist
