Wearing a white shirt, black tux and the required white bowtie for this wedding I'm attending, would it be OK to wear oxblood shoes rather than black, or just stick to black? Any other options?
Formal attire is always a bit tricky to deal with as certain rules apply and you want to be in tune with the overall atmosphere of the event. I guess it all comes down to the wedding’s degree of formality: with such a traditional attire as black tux and white shirt, I would have to say black shoes are the way to go. You can still add your own individual style by accessorizing with a pocket square, watch or bracelet. However, if you feel the event allows you to take it one step further and you feel comfortable with oxblood shoes, it really comes down to how your confident self sports them…just make sure they’re a rich, dark oxblood shade.
